A blue and white dish


Kangxi period (1662-1722)   The dish is of shallow sixteen-lobed form with barbed rim. The interior is painted in various shades of blue with a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber. The base is inscribed with a six-character Chenghua mark within a double ring. 20 cm diameter   Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Mrs. Kamphuis (1916-2002)
