A blue and white vase and cover


Chongzhen period (1628-1644) The octagonal vase is painted with a continuous scene of the scholar Wang Xizhi seated watching an attendant who approaches holding a goose. From the other side another servant is approaching holding a qin wrapped in silk. The broad shoulder is painted with a band of ruyi-shaped panels in blue reserved with floral scrolls.
