Northern Song dynasty (960-1127)
The bowl stand is modelled after a lacquer prototype with a cup-shaped receptacle resting on a high-footed saucer. The whole is covered with a rich russet-brown glaze with dark areas resembling ‘hare’s fur’ and falls irregularly short of the foot. The interior of the hollow foot is left unglazed.
