Qianlong (1736-1795)
The dish is decorated to the center in bright enamels with a scene of European male figures seated at a wooden table playing cards. One of the figures with raised goblet and his arm around a lady holding a wine jug in her left hand. The cavetto is decorated in black and gold with a spiralling border below four alternated sprigs of peony and peach. The rim is dressed brown.

The scene on this dish is painted after one the famous paintings ‘Fêtes Champêtre’ by the Flemish artist David Teniers de Jongere (1610-1690), born in Antwerp.
