Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279)
The box is of hexafoil section with barbed rim and has a shallow, broad circular foot. The cover is moulded in fine relief with a hexafoil floret surrounded by leaf-shaped panels enclosing smaller florets. The interior and exterior are covered with a transparent light blue glaze. The base and the rim of the box and cover are left unglazed.
