Hutton-Clarke Antiques is pleased to offer this elegant 19th century French oak day bed, a wonderfully shaped piece with graceful proportions and excellent decorative presence.

The frame stands on finely carved cabriole legs with a shaped apron running along the front, giving the piece a light and refined appearance typical of good French provincial craftsmanship. The solid oak frame has developed a lovely warm colour and patina over time.

The day bed retains its old upholstery and is ready for re-upholstery, making it an ideal project piece. Once recovered it would make a superb decorative chaise longue or day bed for a bedroom, sitting room, or hallway.

A charming and practical antique that combines elegant form with strong construction.

Hutton-Clarke Antiques is pleased to offer this charming 18th century North Welsh oak dresser, of particularly small and desirable proportions, measuring just 5ft wide.

The dresser features a pleasing canopy rack above with shaped sides and three shelves, including cutlery slots to one shelf, a lovely original and practical detail typical of Welsh country furniture.

Below is a well-proportioned base with three drawers over two cupboard doors, centred by attractive fielded panel decoration, all fitted with traditional turned wooden knobs. The piece stands on simple bracket feet and retains a rich, warm colour and good honest patina developed over centuries of use.

The dresser separates into two sections for easier transport and installation, making it practical for modern homes while retaining its original character.

A very appealing and compact Welsh dresser, ideal where space is limited, yet the charm of genuine 18th century country furniture is desired.

The rectangular top is finished with a decorative faux marble surface, giving the appearance of stone while providing a practical and durable finish. The table features three drawers to the front, fitted with decorative brass handles and escutcheon, offering useful storage while maintaining pleasing proportions. The walnut veneers display a warm tone and attractive figuring with a good mellow patina.

Raised on elegant turned legs united by a shaped cross stretcher, the table has a refined and balanced form inspired by early 18th century Queen Anne furniture. Pieces of this type were produced around the turn of the 20th century as high-quality revival examples of earlier English designs.

A fine quality mid-19th century English dumb waiter of elegant proportions, crafted from dense, beautifully figured mahogany of particularly rich tone and depth.

This exceptional piece stands on bold gadrooned feet terminating in original porcelain castors, a practical yet refined detail typical of well-made period examples. The solid shelves are generously proportioned with softly rounded corners and a superbly figured surface, displaying the depth and warmth that only well-selected antique mahogany can offer.

The upper section is especially striking. The top rail is decorated with flowing, stylised carving reminiscent of early Arts & Crafts taste, incorporating scrollwork and a central rosette motif. The shaped supports beneath each tier feature finely carved scrolling brackets, adding strength as well as architectural elegance.

The lower tier is fitted with two discreet frieze drawers, ideal for cutlery or table accessories, making this both a decorative and highly practical piece.

A grand and highly decorative example in solid oak, retaining all its original fittings. The design features a central bevelled mirror framed by carved scrollwork and mouldings, surrounded by an abundance of turned hat and coat hooks arranged across the upper and side sections.
Below are twin stick or umbrella receptacles with their original removable drip trays, supported by turned columns and shaped lower rails. The hallstand displays good carving, crisp detailing, and a warm, even colour throughout.
Generously proportioned, this piece makes a striking entrance statement while remaining highly functional—perfect for a spacious hallway or period interior. A fine, authentic example in excellent condition.
