Igor Talwinski (Poland 1907- France 1983) ca 1950's A wonderful oil painting portrait on canvas by the much loved artist Talwinski, depicting a young woman 'Anna' with black hair. On the back a paper sticker that says: Talwinski Anna nr 32.  Signed lower right corner.  In fair to good condition overall, no frame.    Dim: 55 x 46 cm  Igor Talwinski was born in 1907 in Warsaw to Paris in 1983. Polish painter, active in England and France. He was mobilized in September 1939 and was taken prisoner by the Germans. After the liberation of the Pow camp in 1945, he settled in Paris. There, he learned the craft of painting. Igor Talwinski was a notable Polish painter who became popular in the period after 1945. After the Second World War he moved to Paris, where he lived for the rest of his career. Since 1951, he exhibited at the Paris Salon. His paintings also presented at solo shows in London and New York. He painted mostly portraits and subtle acts of young girls. His niece was the model for many of these paintings. His work is highly coveted by Fine Art collectors around the world.

A sculpture (mould) by the famous French sculptor Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875) after the original kept in the Louvre.

A high quality plaster bust with a hand painted terracotta finish titled Le Chinois made around 1872 as a study for the allegory of Asia in the monumental work: Les quatre parties du monde soutenant la sphère céleste. 

In good condition, small signs of user wear. Seal at the back.

A high quality sculpture titled Pourquoi naître esclave from 1868, a mould made from an imprint of the original work by the famous sculptor and artist Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (France 1827-1875) kept in the Louvre. 

This bust has a terracotta finish patinated by hand and it has considerable weight. 
Seal at the back and in good condition. Small signs of user wear but overall in good condition.

A large wooden polychrome hand painted Rococo style Venetian dressing table mirror with a classical decor of flowers and a gentlemen in historic garment resting seemingly in conversation with a peacock. 

In good condition with user wear and some old wormholes but treated long ago. The colors have worn nicely and left a lovely patina. Original mirror and no restoration.

XIX Thailand Rattanakosin Kingdom - Rama V period 1868-1910

 

A gilded bronze sculpture of a standing Pang Ham Yati (the Monday Buddha) holding his hands in a double abhaya mudra. He stands on a four-tiered octagonal lotus pedestal with a pointy railing. A very refined shaped face with a meditative expression. 
This classical Buddha is dressed in full regalia, with a spire-type crown and royal upturned slippers. 


It is in good condition for it's age, some railing on the pedestal is missing, possible point missing on the crown (difficult to see) and the smallest lotus pedestal tier has some wear around the feet. See the pictures.

A rare and large silver Tuareg ethnic bracelet with intricate classic design and decorations, with an antique chevron bead in the flower like center.  
This glass trade bead has considerable age and it protected against the evil eye amongst other danger. 

Wonderful craftsmanship and this heavy bracelet is in good condition. This size and type of ethnic jewelry is rarely seen or for sale.
